Well I haven’t done much better about posting, have I? I finally took some progress pics so I actually have something to post today.
Rogue (age of apocalypse version) is at about 75% done.
From the top down… I’ve still got to trim the wig a little. I’m really happy with what I bought for it – the white part especially.
Chase is making my collar tomorrow. Making it the same way we did my Starfire (comic book) collar.
I’ve still got to attach the other sleeve – I’m goign to do that right after I post this. I’ve got to add the cuffs to the gloves (not pictured).
I’ve got to attach the green stripes to the pants – thats the part I’m dreading the most.
I’ve got to paint and attach the pink jewels to the front of the boots.
I’ve always wanted to Rogue’s regular Jim Lee 90s look… so why did I decide to do AoA instead? Mostly because I always loved her boots in her AoA look LOL And her hair.
Poison Ivy is about 50% done.
I ran into a roadblock with the boots and it’s been sitting at 50% for quite a while. I’m going to get moving on it again today or tomorrow.
Big pile of leaves and stuff:
Leaves, getting painted:
I reused the last of the leaves leftover from last year, but they were too bright green for the look I was going for, so I did a wash of copper and a darker green over all of them.
buttflap:
Jean Grey:
I finished the dress, boots, and gloves back in July. I’ve been waiting on my belt buckle to finish the belt, should be in this week.
Chase is making my mask tomorrow. We’re using the same form we used from Huntress, and the same paper pattern, just with the bottom half removed LOL
New Wonder Woman:
As I posted somewhere… I don’t remember where… up until last month I was planning on doing another alternate WW. But Chase asked if we could do a different take on a “regular” WW, because for some reason he had in his mind that’s what we were going to do LOL
He took a bodycast of me earlier this year, and he’s sculpting my chest armor and belt on that.
Here it is, with my new bodice on it:
The bodice was a pain in the butt, I broke 2 needles on it LOL there’s a few things I’m not happy with on it, but I decided to stop messing with it and move on to other things.
I made new bottoms the other night but I think I’m going to remake them again.
He took casts of my arms the other night for the gauntlets.
For the chestpiece and belt we’re not really going with any one artists’ look – we’re kinda mixing it up and doing what we think works best for me.
Black Canary:
I don’t really have a decent pic to post of BC. I’ve got the bodice about 75% done. Like I said the WW bodice was a pain… it was nothing compared to this stupid Black Canary bodice LOL
I picked up my fabric for the jacket yesterday and I plan to get it finished today.
I’ve had the tights and boots for a good long while – I got a wig the other day and I’m a little disappointed with it. I’m hoping a little curl and hairspray – and a trim, it was longer than the picture showed – will get it to where I’m ok with it.
and my last costume is pretty much done. Chase is casting some beads for me (I didn’t have enough of them – I bought them several years ago so Hobby Lobby doesnt have them anymore!) – once he’s done that I can get them painted and attached… and then I need to finish the necklace and I can call that costume 100% done š
Heres a few more random pics
My workroom:
Bins and things, the big grey one is my main dragoncon one, it’s got all my previous costumes I’m taking to dcon with me in it:
don’t ask:
beads and fun stuff – trying to find things that will work with the big green dress:
I think these are the ones I’m going with, but I’ll have to cast them because I don’t have enough:
I love the WW corset! What pattern did you use? It looks great!
Can’t wait to see everything finished! š
I have you to thank for my pattern, after you suggested Simplicity 5006 on the SCF I realised I had that one and never used it… so thank you, I really like this pattern! I wish I’d used for my other project involving a corset now, too LOL
